Researchers from the University of Glasgow studied approximately 2000 physically active people and found that those who exercised outdoors, surrounded by grass and trees had lower brain stress levels.
Further, brain responses to being around woods and forests was so positive and beneficial that it provided a nearly 50 percent improvement in people’s mental health compared to those who weren’t physically active outdoors.
